All of the camp owners agree that they key is operating a successful wilderness tourist camp, is customer service. Getting our customers onto some fish or even a moose is the easy part. It’s all the rest of it that requires the utmost in attention to detail. It is our goal to ensure not only your safety while you’re in camp, but all aspects of your trip that contribute to not just a good trip, but a fantastic one!
As all our guides and camp operators have been fishing and hunting all their lives, all owners have taken comprehensive training programs covering all areas of customer service that relate to the outdoors tourism industry. The programs are developed and taught by Guide Pro Training & Consulting in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The lead instructor is RD, the “Rugged Dude,” who, for ten seasons hosted and produced the popular fishing and hunting show, “Officially Rugged with RD.” RD has personally been to more than 150 camps all across Canada and he knows what “paying customers” expect. RD works with the camp operators throughout the season to ensure that the trips are not “just about fishing.” It’s about the overall experience. He often says, “We’re not just selling a fishing trip. We’re providing a hassle-free, all inclusive vacation. There’s a big difference.”
